Sleep
The early bird catches the worm.
I've been going to bed earlier and waking up earlier recently, trying to put some structure into my schedule. I believe most students are night owls, staying up to the wee hours for whatever reason.
Here's are the good things about being an early bird
1. Quality alone time, pray, read, prepare yourself for the day
2. More hours of sunlight
3. You get a head start on everyone else, when others have been up for 5 hours, you've already got 3 hours more than time
I'm not trying to change anyone's habits, but I this post was inspired by my nocturnal roommate. This morning when my alarm clock went off, as I was getting ready to brush my teeth, my roommate crawled into his bed to sleep.

thanks for the post~ i'm not much for the morning~ That sunlight thing is interesting but it seems regardless of when i sleep i'm not a morning wake up person. If i sleep 10 or after i'm tired until 10am. If i sleep before that i usually wake up around 3-4am and get disoriented and confused. lol~ it's good to be able to function in the morning. i figure my body will adjust with necessity and structure. maybe i'm just tired overall.
I really hated waking up early in first year, I still do, but I am alot more productive and alot more energetic if I wake up earlier, its not even about how much sleep I get, tho if i get more, I wake up earlier, but I do hate waking up early tho.
i agree with you Tim. I noticed a difference between this semester and last. Last semester I started by day of class at either 930 or 1030, and I was usually really lazy to get out of bed. This semester, it's 830/930 and although it's earlier, I feel a lot more productive about my day. The number of hours of sunlight really does make a difference.
Last month, I tried the whole sleeping early (12) and waking up early and I found that I was actually really refreshed for the next day. Sometimes to the point of confusion, where I thought I had slept in because I didn't feel tired when I Woke up.
