some random thoughts

so I discovered that I'd forgotten about this blog, oops.

lately the TIME magazine published an article on whether the Bible should be taught in US high schools, presented neutrally, so that people know the basis of a lot of Western culture's ideals. I'm kind of divided between thinking it's good that people would be more exposed to the Bible, and thinking it's bad that people would be taught more on the 'what happened in the Bible' level than the 'God is amazing and scary and loves you crazily much' level. I guess any level of awareness of the Bible is a good thing, but I can't help feeling that teaching it as 'just another book' short-changes it. any thoughts?

I've also realized that God, to me, is more of a head thing than a heart thing. I know facts and concepts, but somehow it doesn't carry to... well, seeing as how I haven't got it, I don't know to where it's supposed to be carrying (ha ha.). it sometimes feels like a dream, or something; I'm there and I'm experiencing it, but it's not penetrating. but I know that the very fact that I'm aware of this means that God is moving and He's changing me... I just wish that it'd go faster, I guess.

so I have 8.30am class every day this semester, and looking back, and I don't think that I've been on time for a single one of them. and now that the year is almost over, I have learned a lesson: NEVER have 8.30 classes, ever again.
